Air Duct Cleaning in West Jordan, UT

THIS COMPANY IS HORRIBLE. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY AT ALL!!! THIS IS A VERY DISHONEST COMPANY. I am extremely disappointed with One Stop Heating and Air Conditioning and the service I received. We are military family and this is unacceptable!!! I was present the entire time during Tony’s visit, and I personally witnessed how the service was handled. Tony diagnosed my AC with a bad compressor and told me I needed either a compressor replacement costing around $6,000–$7,000 or a completely new AC system. Tony was very insistent that replacing the entire unit was the best option. I told him I wanted to get a second opinion before making such a large financial decision, and he responded that it would not hurt his feelings. I received a very vague explanation that didn’t make sense. The invoice I received states that an ohms/resistance test was performed and that the compressor was considered grounded. Based on that diagnosis, I was told I needed a major repair or replacement. I decided to get a second opinion from another HVAC technician who was not from One Stop Heating and was not Tony. I was present during the entire evaluation, and he showed me the issues he found. The compressor was not the problem. He found a dirty and incorrect-size filter, an incorrectly wired disconnect box, and a bad capacitor. He replaced the capacitor with a 45/5 capacitor, corrected the issues, and my AC is now cooling again. I was also very concerned that after Tony’s visit, the system was left disconnected and the wiring was left loose and wired incorrectly. My AC unit is only 7 years old. Tony told me that AC units only last around 7 years and made it sound like my system needed to be replaced. The second HVAC technician from a different company with 26 years of experience, he was very knowledgeable and took him 5 minutes to diagnose the capacitor problem, explained that, with proper maintenance, a unit like mine can often last much longer and that replacement was not justified based only on age. I also want to mention that last year another technician from this company performed my yearly tune-up, and during this recent evaluation I was told that the inside area of the unit had not been properly cleaned as expected or told. I have documentation from both companies showing two very different diagnoses. One Stop Heating documented that my compressor was grounded and recommended a major repair or replacement. A second HVAC technician from the other company documented different, repairable issues, including a bad capacitor, an incorrect-size filter, and wiring problems. After those repairs were completed, my AC is working and cooling again. Based on my personal experience, I do not feel I received an accurate or thorough diagnosis. I feel I could have been pushed into spending thousands of dollars unnecessarily. Customers should always get a second opinion before approving expensive repairs or replacing an entire AC system. I will be filing a formal complaint regarding this situation and the way this service was handled. I am also considering contacting local news outlets to bring attention to these concerns so other customers can be aware. I hope management takes this seriously and reviews the quality of service, diagnostic process, and communication provided to customers.

Leaving a star for the quality of service we received from the technician but everything else has just been headaches and lies. Our heater went out in November and One Stop was able to get a technician out quickly. He was professional and honest and we decided to replace our whole HVAC system specifically because of the promise that we would receive $5k in rebates when we did our taxes. At tax time, our accountant had no idea what we were talking about with these rebates. I called One Stop for help and it turned out they had an entire department to help with the rebates—this was not mentioned when we signed up for the package that included rebates. I sent over the requested documents to this department and was ignored. I followed up over email and was ignored. I called One Stop again and was told that my documents were missing info (which hadn’t been requested the first time). When I sent the corrected info, I was again ignored. The technicians here are nice but it has now been over six months and I am out $5000 that I was told I would receive and have received nothing but dishonesty and half assed help and blame. Additionally, our system still has not technically been approved by our city. The inspector came and said they used a wrong connector. When One Stop came to fix it, they said the inspector was wrong and didn’t fix anything. Again, it has been 6 months and we are still dealing with city inspections. The technicians here are nice but the company itself is dishonest and unhelpful. I do not recommend working with them.

Tony came over this morning after texting me he was on the way. Checked out the unit, said I was good and he would see me in the fall.

Matt was good. and very nice. he had a lot of insight on what would work good for heating and cooling my house. he was pushy at all which I really appreciated i usually dread having people come over to quote me for stuff. but it wasn't a bad experience at all with him.

Devin was friendly and arrived exactly when I was told he would. As a working mom, I appreciate being able to shoot for a time and be updated along the way to ensure I could be home!
